Convert Colonial First State bank statements to Excel or CSV
Colonial First State (CFS) statements are superannuation statements: account valuation, an investment options breakdown, and contribution and earnings detail. Download the PDF statement, upload it here, and get every transaction as a spreadsheet that is checked against the statement's own opening and closing balances before you download it.

The Colonial First State statement layout
These notes come from real Colonial First State statements our reader has been tested against, not from a template guess:
- Statements open with the account valuation, then break down investment options, contributions and earnings in their own sections.
- CFS's own 'how to read your online super statement' guide walks through seven sections, and the online statement follows that order.
How to download a PDF statement from Colonial First State
- Statements are delivered through FirstNet, CFS's member portal, if you are registered and opted in to electronic statements: log in at cfs.com.au.
- To request a statement or report on demand, open Statements in FirstNet and choose Create report.
- You will get an email when the document is ready in your document library — download the PDF from there.
Steps summarised from CFS's own pages; the Create report path is CFS's on-demand route, and issued statements also arrive through FirstNet for members who opted in.
Once you have the PDF, drop it into the converter — you can check the result before you pay for anything, and the first 10 pages each month are free.
What to check after converting
- The result is marked Reconciled — the rows reproduce the closing balance exactly. If a difference is shown instead, our guide to why a statement does not balance walks through the usual causes.
- A super statement is not a bank account: convert the contributions and transactions detail, and treat valuation figures as summaries, not rows.
- Member numbers and investment option names repeat on every page — check they have not landed in your amount columns after converting.
- Spot-check two or three rows against the PDF, especially around page breaks. Our guide on how to check a conversion shows a two-minute routine.
