Convert Citibank bank statements to Excel or CSV
Citibank issues a separate PDF statement per account and month through Citibank Online, covering checking, savings, cards and charge cards. Download the PDF statement, upload it here, and get every transaction as a spreadsheet that is checked against the statement's own opening and closing balances before you download it.
The Citibank statement layout
These notes come from real Citibank statements our reader has been tested against, not from a template guess:
- The Citibank layout our reader is verified against is the charge card statement (including US government travel cards): its table prints Sale date, Post date, MCC, Reference, Description and a single Total Amount column.
- Charge card statements carry an account summary and cardholder/approver signature areas, and amounts sit in one column rather than split debits and credits.
- Because there is no running balance column, the check runs against the summary totals instead.
How to download a PDF statement from Citibank
- Go to citi.com/statements and sign in, or sign in to the Citi Mobile® app.
- Open Statements and pick the account.
- Choose the statement month — use the year selector for older statements — and download the PDF.
Once you have the PDF, drop it into the converter — you can check the result before you pay for anything, and the first 10 pages each month are free.
What to check after converting
- The result is marked Reconciled — the rows reproduce the closing balance exactly. If a difference is shown instead, our guide to why a statement does not balance walks through the usual causes.
- On charge card statements, check each exported amount against the Total Amount column; the MCC and Reference fields stay in the PDF, not the export.
- If a client sends a Citi statement as a paper scan, ask for the PDF from Citibank Online instead — the scan has no text layer to read.
- Spot-check two or three rows against the PDF, especially around page breaks. Our guide on how to check a conversion shows a two-minute routine.
