Convert Barclays bank statements to Excel or CSV
Barclays current account statements use the classic UK five-column layout — Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance — headed by the sort code and account number. Download the PDF statement, upload it here, and get every transaction as a spreadsheet that is checked against the statement's own opening and closing balances before you download it.
The Barclays statement layout
These notes come from real Barclays statements our reader has been tested against, not from a template guess:
- Five columns: Date, Description, Debit, Credit and a running Balance.
- The sort code and account number head the statement, in the standard UK format.
- One statement per account per month, issued through the Barclays app and Online Banking.
How to download a PDF statement from Barclays
Barclays issues statements inside the Barclays app and Online Banking: sign in, open the account, and look for the statements or documents area to view and download the PDF for the month you need. (Barclays does not publish a step-by-step for this on its website; if the layout has moved, the in-app help points the way.)
Once you have the PDF, drop it into the converter — you can check the result before you pay for anything, and the first 10 pages each month are free.
What to check after converting
- The result is marked Reconciled — the rows reproduce the closing balance exactly. If a difference is shown instead, our guide to why a statement does not balance walks through the usual causes.
- Dual Debit/Credit columns with a running balance are the easiest layout to verify: any break in the balance chain points straight at the problem row.
- Spot-check the first and last rows of each page — UK statements flow across pages without repeating the full header.
- Spot-check two or three rows against the PDF, especially around page breaks. Our guide on how to check a conversion shows a two-minute routine.
